Okay, I admit. I'm not keeping you posted on all the creative stuff I'm doing like I said I would.
I lost the USB phone connector cord.
I know.
That's really sad.
Its been gone for three weeks now.
I'm on a mission to get two books proof read by friends and get them independently published with LULU.
Also have photobooks created and in que waiting for extra deneros for printing costs. But sooo excited-- can't wait to see my photography on glossy pages of my own book!
I'm still taking pictures! I've got a few that are just awesome.
I'm still finger painting!
I finished hand stitching the edging on a quilt project and can't wait to see the friend it's going to!
I'm now on a doll dress kick. I had a 1770s immersion weekend watching The Scarlet Pimpernel and Amadeus. I want to make 1770s dresses, but on a smaller scale, requiring much less fabric than those real pannier dresses.
I costume designed a whole Shakespeare show in an hour. Sketches are rough, but it was a most brilliant HFCS overdose put to good use. It was fun! It was inspired and easy! I haven't had that much fun designing a show in years. Now I'm wanting to have another sugar overdose afternoon on a quilt in a park with script, pencil and sketch pad in hand and see what happens with another Shakespeare script. Naturally I want to be really good at costume sketching -- like Tom Tierney good. But I accept that creativity is still creativity even if it isn't level of creating an empire of coloring books and paper doll books.
Oh And an Apron kick. I want a full length one with ruffles at the shoulders.
I found a Peanuts coloring book and want to make embroidery transfer patterns off of them. Tea towels with Snoopy atop the dog house, Linus surrounded by pumpkins... cute! Someday, there's always a someday!
And I found an astoundingly beautiful bed ruffle at a thrift store and I want to make an obnoxious 1950s style skirt out of it.
And I'm engrossed in studying and learning about "fascinators." I have a stock pile of supplies waiting for the proper time to experiment, create and play with headbands, hair combs, feathers and baubles.
But I need a place to sew! Hence there fore I need to be chatting with my fairy godmother for a 2br apartment so I have space for an office/sewing room. Well if I get a 1 br maybe the dining room space will just have to be the sewing room.
I also bought color hair extensions -- red! Fun! But playing with my hair now makes me want a curlers set and lots of eco friendly bottles of heavy duty hairspray. I want big 80s hair. Big Texas Hair. Poofy hair. I want to rebel against boring straight hair. I want to bleach my hair then dye my hair purple, but I'm still job hunting. The only places you can work with purple hair are tattoo parlors, back stage theater and any business you own yourself. Since I have to play in the legit world, then purple is out. And yes I know I can't have big curly poofey hair *and* wear the extensions. Straight barbie hair does not do well in these circumstances.
And side note: I have been to three Sally Beauty Supply stores across the state and all I have to say is When I am the only person in your store, why not pay attention to me? Why not ask me questions? They may have a wide array of supplies but they are all seriously LACKING in customer service skills.
I also want to create events -- don't know if/when/how it could happen but I want to create a Project Runway style event for HS/College/Univ/Professionals/Interested souls. A weekend event, and yes models and a rock and roll runway experience. I figured if I did a months worth of weekends with Themes then I could have these budding designers design and create an eccelectic Shakespeare show. It would be a hoot to have Project Runwayesqe events on the weekends while the cast is rehersing. Fashion show runway events, spotlighting local design talent! It would be a hoot! I'd love to meet others and encourage their costume designing skills too! After the show have a gallery showing of the artwork and the artists. Oh I'm thinking creatively BIG. And it feels Fantastic!
I may have to go sell plasma to get $ to finance a new photo cord.
